Nice! Is this a from scratch rewrite? What did you use to make it?

thx.
it's not very well polished but is fine to start with. here's what was reused from the old site:
- 146 lines of JS
- some images/icons
- around 100 lines of PHP code
the "core" codebase is pretty flexible and supports amazon S3 for photo storage, caching (flat file & memcached), youtube integration (search, upload, etc). it is based on some generic social networking code i wrote in spare time last year for a few pet projects. i just added some basic forum support, ported the legacy data, setup a new VM instance @ the data center. all in all, i spent 10.5 hours on this (according to the stopwatch) & tada you magically got PT 2.0 -
Posted: 12/07/08 01:38 PMI think the navigation needs work, its a bit confusing. But it looks good, hopefully it can stand on it's own

My only thing is that I liked it when it was just a forum to be honest, there are too many social networks today, and I already only use one (FB). I will probably still use some of the features though, so I won't complain
Also, put a preview button for the posts! -
Posted: 12/07/08 01:42 PMOh noes! Where's the edit post button! I'm lost! AHH!!!
Anyway, found a bug with username maybe...search for my name, it comes with 2, one me and one floydiandroid_. Maybe it's just an sql DB error? -
Posted: 12/07/08 01:43 PMAlso, please put a warning when someone click's "Delete" on the post....I didn't know it just removed it without confirming

Posted: 12/07/08 01:49 PMit's pretty easy to add FB/Google connect so that people don't have to create new accounts on yet another stupid social network. i found it odd that you guys kept posting on PT even though you all got FB. why do you think that is?
i'll try to add some more features now that the codebase is easy to work with.
it's not a big deal if the site usage drops from 6 people to 0, it's been trending down anyway
-
Posted: 12/07/08 01:50 PMre: _floydiandroid -- it's not a db error, someone actually created that account.

done.
editing, previewing & "notify me" will probably come next. have to goto a recital now though so maybe next weekend.
btw, make a suggestion on nav re-org... what's confusing about it right now? -
