Posted: 09/13/03 05:47 PMno u see it is impossible for that friend of urs because u said his gpa is a 3.95 that means no matter how many more 4.0 semesters he has his total gpa will still be less than a 4.0. i still decree its impossible to graduate with a gpa of a 4.0 because there will always be one class where u didnt get the a but u got the a- or the b+.
i want to see real proof. -
Posted: 09/16/03 06:53 PMMy gpa is like a 2.3 or something.
however, gpa doesnt matter when you're out to start your own company(ies).
Also, a friend of mine is a big shot game developer, and is constantly hiring new talent. He said GPA was the last thing they looked at, they focus more on 1) Hard working?
2) How many demos/games have they made or tried to make
3) Creative?
4) Experience
5) Friendly.
I guess hardworking shoud be number 1, considering he told me at crunch time, game developers will have to bust heir hump about 70-80 hours a week. -

well that is if you assume all of us are just gonna go get some stupid job after we graduate. I plan to go to grad school after poly and i dont wanna pay for this i say that gpa is very very important! -
Posted: 09/28/03 01:40 AMJust like all those grades in elementary school were important, then those grades in high school were Mortaly important. As soon as you move to the next stage, it doesn't matter what your past grades were. Just figure out where you are headed, then worry about getting there. remember, Everyone in the jobmarket look for people with experience and accomplishments. Spending all your energy on grades all you're gonna end up with is a number and no job.
Then again i could be wrong
Opinions and advice are like that. -

Posted: 01/08/10 09:02 PMI have a 5.0. I'm currently at the top of my class. GPAs aren't the most important things though for colleges. To be valedictorian, you need the most academic acheivements of your class. Not just a 4.0 and regular classes. I'm in AP. I'm so far ahead I'm taking college courses now. I took a lot of high school credits in middle school. All I need now is English 3 and 4. I'll graduate with a science endorsement.
